Threesday: 3 (more) ways to help Haiti

In our ongoing Threesday feature, Shanghaiist takes the time to count out three of....well, whatever catches our fancy that week. Here we present three different ways to help with the relief efforts in Haiti without having to leave Shanghai.

jwmarriot.jpg While weeks have passed since the 7.0 earthquake shocked the already destitute Haiti, relief efforts are still ongoing and could use your assistance. Sure there's that BEAN fundraiser coming up on Saturday (and we do hope you come), but in case you can't make that... or if you're really gung-ho about being charitable, here are some other ways to help our pals in Port au Prince.

1. Spring Festival Celebration @ JW Marriot Hotel
Come one, come all! This upcoming Saturday show up at the JW Marriot Shanghai Tomorrow Square and help support Habitat for Humanity's relief efforts in Haiti, as well as celebrate the Chinese New Year and recognize HFH's efforts across China. And don't worry, it ends at 6, giving you enough time to make it to Cotton's afterward.

When: Saturday January 30th, 4:00 pm - 6:00pm
Where: 399 Nanjing Xi Lu, near Huangpi Bei Lu
Cost: a donation

Enjoy an evening of good music and cheap drinks at Not Me, which incidentally is hosting a “Hope for Haiti” night on February 6th starting at 9pm. Come see DJ Nat Alexander, DJ Shanghai Ultra and Brown Nylon Suit (Hideout) and support Partners in Health's relief efforts in Haiti. 50 RMB donation required at the door, with all proceeds going to Partners in Health.

When: Saturday February 6th, 9:00 pm - late
Where: 21 Dongping Lu, near Hengshang Lu
Cost: minimum 50RMB donation

3. "Dance for Haiti" @ Zhijiang Dream Factory

The Haiti love goes on into next month, with the Zhijiang Dream Factory hosting a musical benefit for Haitian relief efforts on March 5th. This “Dance for Haiti” night will feature some of Shanghai’s best rock and reggae groups including: Wayne’s Basement, Duck Fight Goose, Studio 188, Monroe Stahr, Lions of Puxi and Weghur. If ¥100 isn’t worth paying just to see this incredible line-up of musical talent, then know that all ticket sale proceeds will be donated to One Foundation/Red Cross with support from charitable partner Habitat for Humanity.

When: Friday March 5th, 9:00 pm - late
Where: B4/F 28 Yuyao Lu, near Xikang Lu
Cost: 100 RMB
