China, why are you pissed? O, let me count the reasons...
Things aren't looking too great between China and the U.S. these days. While some say it'll all blow over (because it has to), a China with hurt feelings makes us bite our nails at least a little. Not to mention, the sheer amount of things annoying this country can get kind of confusing! So for your sake and ours, we've listed them out below:

- It's curious that such a peaceful, exalted individual could cause much ire, but his Holiness the Dalai Lama's upcoming visit to Washington has ruffled Beijing's feathers - an official warning from the capital states the visit will "damage trust and cooperation." Ouch. As to what the two will talk about, that's anyone's guess. Realistically, the meeting is probably part political posturing, part publicity and part primo meditation for the Prez, but we suppose that only time will tell. Anyway, who could hate a face like that? (see above)
- Mr. Obama himself isn't looking too good from this side of the Pacific either. It kinda sucks for him, because aside from his less-than-noteworthy but majorly-hyped visit last year and aforementioned rendezvous, he hasn't really done much worthy of China being pissed off. Oh wait, except "vowing a tougher stance on China." D'oh!
- Oh, and also, approving a $6.4 billion arms sale to Taiwan, which prompted China to cry and leave the proverbial military playground. Beijing has vowed to sanction US companies involved. What's more is that the sale adds further strain to the base of the Taiwan-China-U.S. love triangle. Experts on both sides question the move, as much of the U.S.'s continued recovery moving forward will depend on China's support.
- And speaking of U.S. companies, Google continues to make blood boil as China is once again implicated with regard to last month's hackings. It's true that many of the hackings have been linked to American-made glitches and, some would argue, the citizen-spying protocols of the Bush administration. Still. we all know how well the "devil made me do it" excuse works in real life.
