Rant of the Day: Glenn Beck on Sino U.S. relations... and Harry Potter
We were pointed to this February 2nd edition of Glenn Beck on Fox News, which was so unintentionally funny, we decided to pass it along. The conservative pundit takes on why we need to be scared of China owning us: well, look at what they did to Harry Potter (back in 2007. Maybe Glenn gets his news on a three year cycle?). We've transcribed it below if looking at Beck's smug, bloated face may be a little too much for your stomach in the mornings - we know we got a little nauseous when watching.
Who owns us? Better yet... who owns our CHILDREN? Quite honestly, I'd rather go back to 1895, I'd rather be owned by JP Morgan, at least he was a Capitalist American and not communist Chinese. But we're doing it to ourselfYou might say, oh Glen that's ridiculous, China's a great trading partner! Really, there's no problem. Mmhmm mmhmm.
Remember the poisoned toys and poisoned dog food? Yeah. How about this one - the Clinton influence buying scandal? Hey, remember we sold sea ports in CA to China back in the 90s? And now we're taking them off the spy lists - they don't look so hard over there.
Do you really think they're not going to steal anything? Really? May I show you the cover of a book over in China:

Look in that corner, recognize that little boy over there with the glasses? Yeah, it's Harry Potter. This book popped up in China before the ink was even dry. Unauthorized. Incredibly bizarre stories stealing JK Rowling's beloved stories and work EVERYWHERE. They were everywhere in China - including a version of the boy wizard as a fat hairy dwarf.
China's response? "We're looking into it. What?"
Our national debt has become a freakish fat hairy giant, stealing from our children's futures and dishonoring our founders and everything they stood for. And quite honestly, I think... dishonoring us in the eyes of the rest of the world and more importantly, in our children.
