Goojje told to stop using Google trademarks

Google has sent a cease and desist letter to the people behind Goojje, telling them to stop using Google's logo, which is protected by trademark. As we noted earlier, Goojje is a pun: the jje part of it sounds like "jie jie (姐姐)" or sister, which mirrors how Google's last syllables sound like "ge ge (哥哥)" or brother. It was started as a semi-serious protest piece asking Baidu and Google to work out their troubles, and begging Google not to leave China because "Goojje would be lonely." Guess Google didn't like the joke?

Still remember how Google beat its chest shouting pulling out while helpful U.S. government threw weigh behind it immediately, as promised on a home party by Clinton? But after the loud and heroic threat, Google seemed sort of backtracked from Drummond’s "We have decided we are no longer willing to continue censoring our results on Google.cn", since the results are still being censored, if not self censored.

And Eric Schmidt, was recently quoted as saying, "We would very much like to stay in China. We would very much like the censorship we oppose to improve in China." So for God sake, Eric, be a man, if not a hero. Sugar cane cannot be sweet on both ends. Make clear what you really want to be. All west media are suddenly pretending to be blind fools as they are only keen on report of Pat Tillman type. If Chinese government just bent the law only for you, also let us share the joke. But say something!

As usual. Incomprehensible unrelated blather. Got nothing to say about trademark protection in China? What a surprise.
