This Shanghaiist Scrabble set a couple of records for us. First, it was the first time we’ve seen where there were more people who had come specifically to partake in our scrabble game than random wanderers into Cotton’s that thought “Hey, that board looks fun, I will participate.” It makes me weep with joy.
Second, there was the score. Teachers Anonymous schooled the rest of the competition with an amazing 401 points. Though the word with the highest point score overall still belonged to… well, us (we managed to get HAPPINESS to hit two triple word places – something that I guess can only happen in Shanghaiist Scrabble).
Anyway, Teachers Anonymous wins 250RMB in Cotton’s vouchers. All the rest of y’all get to try again next time, on March 30th (mark your calendars).
