Star F*cks: Where grinding takes on a whole new meaning

starfuucks.jpg Heh, while it's been a while since we've seen a Starbucks rip off (it seems that their efforts at litigating the crap out of everyone here weren't in vain) in Shanghai, it seems like they're still popping up in smaller, less visible cities. And this has to be the funniest of them all.

This picture was found on the blog, Liuzhou Laowai, written by - it seems - an expat living in the southern Guangxi Province city of Liuzhou. Apparently, like that shanzhai street in Nanjing, it's not really an actual coffee shop so much as a harbringer of things to come.

Dirty, dirty things.

Haha, am having a good giggle at this. I also helpfully point out "porn queen" in the shanzhai logo, to anyone who might miss the tiny words.

I love the copy from the original post: "It's all about the ritual - no one seems to know what the stuff is actually meant to taste like."

Peachy!

That shanzhai street in nanjing video was exposed about a year ago. The final evidence by people on the scene was that it was a publicity stunt knowingly put on by the building's developers. As you can see in the video, the building was still under construction. They were only trying to attract attention for the building, in order to get leasers into the property. The storefront signs are all the same material, and cheaply made. They were taken down shortly after the original article was out.

There was a similar street in Shenzhen--high-end development with placeholder signs that were knock-offs of famous brands. It was funny, but there weren't any shops open at the time.

There was no so-called "jet crash." This story is a fabrication.
