Video: Hugh Jackman sings in Chinese

So a story came in on my RSS feed a couple weeks ago about how Wolverine impersonator Hugh Jackman found Chinese really really hard to master. The Australian hunk of man was in Shanghai filming Wayne Wang's new movie, Snow Flower and the Secret Fan. Apparently, in it, he's a night club owner who - at some point - needs to sing in Chinese.

Jackman, who plays a nightclub owner, joked that his pronunciation was lost on the movie's ethnic Chinese producer Wendi Murdoch — the wife of media mogul Rupert Murdoch.

"I sang it and the very first couple of syllables she was like, 'great,' and then gradually she said like, 'what?'" he told Associated Press Television News in an interview late Thursday.

"But I think I got at least one take," Jackman added.

Unfortunately at that time, there was no video and I decided that as amusing as thinking about Hugh Jackman singing in terrible Mandarin was, it wasn't quite newsworthy. BUT, now Hugh's appeared on Jay Leno's show to warble his Chinese canticle:

He's adorable, but I have no idea what he was singing. He goes on to talk about pirated movies, hired thugs and trying to outdrive Shanghai taxis: aka reasons why everyone should do movies in China.
