The Youtube version of this amazing singer has been whistling around the internet, usually with a title like "China's Susan Boyle" attached to it. The singer's name is Lin Yuqin (林育羣), but it seems like everyone on the show just calls him Xiao Pang (Little Fatty) and I can't help but note the resemblance to our city's own Xiao Pang internet sensation.
But first, to clear up some things. Lin Yuqin appeared on a singing show called 超級星光大道 (Roughly translatable to Super Shining Star Boulevard - but I think the English name they chose was "One Million Star")... a Taiwanese show. This uber-popular Taiwanese show has gone on for six seasons now, though it started at roughly the same time as China's Happy Girls. Joke what you will about One China and what not, but at least on the subject of entertainment, there's a huge HUGE difference between China-produced and Taiwan-produced. E.g. everyone on this singing show can... actually sing somewhat.
Anyhow, Taiwan's Xiao Pang does an amazingly accurate mimicry of Whitney Houston singing I Will Always Love You. For those of you who enjoy watching non-Superstar looking people belting out Superstar renditions of popular pop songs, this video will surely satisfy.
