What happens if you build two high-rise apartment buildings and realize in hindsight that not only is the feng shui off, you actually care that the feng shui is off? If you’re this building developer in Putuo, you insert a giant frickin’ 15-story-high rock.
The complex, 上青佳园 (Shang Jing Jia Yuan) is located on 1258 Changde Road in the Putuo District and has been named by netizens as “The Most Niu Mountain View in Shanghai City.”
The building raises so many questions! Did the feng shui actually improve? Did anyone from the 15th floor downwards complain about their view being blocked by a giant rock? How did they build that giant rock to begin with?
The property owners said it was “created many years ago” (in 2003) and there’s nothing special enough about it to cause a fuss. Though they did also mention that the Shanghai Mountaineering Association had proposed to host a rock climbing event there – only to be declined for security reasons. Shame.
