Yes, the open, participatory, user-generated ‘unconference’ for geeks, entrepreneurs, innovators, bloggers and techies that first started out in Shanghai back in 2006 is back. Billed as an “unconference where everyone who attends participates by presenting or helping out”, the event will be on June 12 at The NetCircle along the Suzhou Creek.
Barcamps are a perfect environment to give presentations about topics you are passionate about — and this could be anything from the perfect coffee, ruby on rails, community management, photography or getting things done. You can also do a 5 minute lightning talk instead of a presentation (or anything in between), suggest a discussion topic or initiate a workshop.
If you intend to step on stage, be sure to be there at 10 am for planning of the day’s schedule. For those of you that aren’t presenting anything, feel free to drop by anytime after that (the sessions are estimated to begin around 10.30am or 11am). This will be a good opportunity to rub shoulders with people from Shanghai’s vibrant startup- and tech-scene of Shanghai (see who’s attending here), and to learn, share and receive inspiration in a casual and relaxed atmosphere.
