Shanghaiist + Boxing Cat Brewery’s July 4 Party: Dukes of Hazzard, contests and prizes galore!

dukes_july4_small.jpg Yeeeeehaw! If there was anything we’re good for at Shanghaiist, it’s makin’ our way the only way we know how – and this July 4 we’ll be makin’ our way to the Boxing Cat Brewery for a good ol’ Independence Day shindig. Last year’s July 4 party was a rousing success, if we may say so ourselves, and this year’s promises to be much of the same. Like last time, we’ll have LIVE MUSIC playing and a BOAT RACE (aka chugging rally) for charity!
For the charity boat race, please register a team of FIVE PEOPLE and your CHARITY OF CHOICE with us at [email protected]. Each person will need to pay an entry free of 100RMB – ALL of which will be going to the charity that wins. For your troubles, all teams will be getting a giftbag (sponsored by Sherpas) with spa vouchers, cups, Sherpa coupons, a bottle of wine and more. The winning team will get 1000RMB in vouchers and other goodies. We’ll stop entries at 12 teams.
But even if you don’t register for the boat race, there’s other stuff to look forward to:

  • How about ALL YOU CAN EAT AND DRINK – beers, wine, house pours, burgers, dogs, wings & Southern-style sides like only the Boxing Cat can provide.
  • If you’ve still got room for more, why not try entering our PIE EATING CONTEST – winner gets a sweet reward (as if stuffing pies down your maw wasn’t reward enough). Only eight people can enter, so get there and register fast!
  • Want to compete without resorting to gluttony? Then get in costume and enter our COSTUME CONTEST. In case you haven’t noticed, it’s a Dukes of Hazzard themed party, so break out your best cowboy hats, white suits and Daisy Dukes. Winners will receive Enjoy Cards!

Besides all that, there will be a rocking soundtrack and old Dukes of Hazzard episodes playing on all the TVs. This will be your best July 4 Sunday this year – NO DOUBT!
PARTY IS: Boxing Cat Brewery, 82 Fuxing Xi Lu near Yongfu Lu
PARTY TIME: 11am to 4pm, Sunday July 4, 2010
PRICE: 225 RMB per person for everything!
