We mentioned briefly the rules for our micro-brew beer chugging competition (for charity!) in our post about the upcoming July 4 party before, but just so there’s no confusion, here’s exactly what you need to do to take part:
Men, women, or co-ed teams of 5 (no more, no less)
Registration fees are 100RMB per person – that’s 500RMB per team.
16 team registration cap for the competition – first come, first serve
Just by registering, you’ll get a complimentary Boxing Cat Brewery baseball cap and a complimentary gift bag from Sherpa’s (amongst other things, it includes a bottle of wine for the team).
The winnning team will receive 1000RMB in gift vouchers.
All proceeds from the registration fees (a whopping total of 8000RMB) will go to the winning team’s charity of choice – each team must choose a charity to which they will donate the registration proceeds upon winning.
Registration forms are due no later than 11:59PM on July 3rd, 2010.
Teams will compete in a single-elimination, bracket-style tournament until one team is remaining
For each match, two teams will face each other along a table
Each contestant will have one full 16 ounce pint of Boxing Cat beer in front of them
To start, one contestant from each team on the far side of the table will “cheers” their glasses before beginning to chug.
Once a contestant’s glass is empty, they must hold it upside down above their head. The next contestant is then allowed to start chugging.
After every contestant from the team has entirely and properly downed their beer, the fastest team who has done so will be declared the winners.
Any contestant who vomits during the competition will immediately disqualify his/her team.
In the event of a tie, each team will choose one teammate to go head-to-head in a chug-off.
