Currently showing in – of all things – a mall is Leo Gallery’s Art in Space exhibit. The show uses the large empty foyer in Times Square Mall to show off a four-story bird cage-cum-rocket and several other pieces.
It’s quite nice! Usually that space is used for nothing more than advertising, and it’s great to see those vast regions of nothingness being turned into pieces of art. One can only hope that this is part of a trend, especially considering how many more malls are being built in this city every day.
Where: Times Square Mall 时代广场, 99 Huahai Zhong Road near Liu Lin Road
When: From now until Wednesday, July 21
