A mall in Shenyang has proved it is fully attuned to the plights of being a woman: A 'venting' store opened at a shopping centre in the city in March, kitted out with second-hand mobile phones and TV sets for angry customers to destroy. Patrons can also tear paper, throw plates and pound beanbags for one minute to release tension... And the entire store is girls only.

The shop is divided into several areas, including a living room and a bedroom. The mall's business manager, Wang Jingyu, also told People's Daily that a kitchen-like zone may be opened in the future, so "women can come here to feel like they are in their own homes but without any limitations, and they can break anything here."

The paper also reported that the majority of the store's customers are white collar and university students, disgruntled with "the economy and job hunting problems."

If a town known as a 'city full of vitality' feels the need to open stores to allow women to vent, we can only imagine the manic atmosphere of Shanghai would warrant the same here. All in favour say SMASH?
