NYT: A Penthouse in Shanghai

Our city was profiled recently in the New York Times' Great Homes and Destinations section. Shanghai expat Nichol Bradford opened her Huaihai Lu lane house to the NYT, showing off her Art Nouveau styled building and Hot Dog Decor-styled... well, decor. There's even a photo gallery so you can get a better look at Ms. Bradford's stylings. As with most homes featured there, it's absolutely out of my personal budget, but gee - ain't it nice to share what you could have in this city?

Agreed. What she pays is no where near what I've seen some rich Chinese pay, and drive, and wear, and flaunt.

  • nanheyangrouchuan

She obviously has a good job and China Barista serves her coffee.

Hey China Barista, sounds like you're just jealous. What's wrong with having a nice apartment? People in New York, Tokyo, Paris, Hong Kong, have their nice apartments written about all the time. Most of the time its word of mouth that gets to a magazine writer and then they contact the person for an article. If you're jealous, just admit it.

  • China Barista

Seems she's desparate for attention. Now in two magazines. I give her three months before that apartment is burgled. Stupid woman. In China, you need to keep your wealth low key, not flaunt it.

    >implying chinese don't flaunt their wealth.

    U MAD?

  • beastman

Dude can you go out and tell that to like...uhhh..every Shanghainese person in this city, cause they sure as hell ain't living by those rules.

And $2000@900 sq.ft isn't even that much comparatively.
