We introduced you to some of the more amazing acts on China's Got Talent (中国达人秀) a few weeks ago, now another contender has appeared: 23-year-old armless pianist Liu Wei, who plays with his feet.
Liu Wei lost his arms after being electrocuted by a high-voltage wire when he was ten. On the most recent episode of the show, filmed at Shanghai Grand Theater, he played Richard Clayderman's "Mariage D'amour" with only his toes! Later, he gave an incredibly optimistic interview to Shanghai Daily:
He said he feels no anger because of what happened all those years ago, as it was just "destiny" that arranged and decided his life."I don't know why people always believe my life is so painful because I don't have arms," Liu said. "I am a happy man living a colorful life, just like other young people."
He told Shanghai Daily that when the accident occurred, he initially cried hard and tried a million times to "wake up from the nightmare."
But gradually he realized it was not a dream and he tired of crying. His attitude changed and he asked himself: "My arms are gone, so what?"
Amazing! Who knew that an imported talent show in China would actually be able to showcase as many emotional stories and tales of triumph as the Paralympics?
