Start the night off with a dance: Beyond China is a show by up and coming Chinese choreographer Nunu Kong, with dancers selected from various partner institutes at the end of a three week dance workshop. Ticket price is 50RMB.

Doll House presents a house party (natch) at Node Lounge in Red Town. Free entrance and BBQ, with a 10 drinks for 100RMB deal. They also promise a “magic cocktail in the shape of a ball” and a swimming pool.

A troupe of 36 children, aged 11 to 16, from Ukraine will be performing ballet versions of Cinderella and Snow White. Despite their young ages, they’re all pros – it’s definitely not something to miss. Tickets are either 80, 160, 220 or 280RMB. If you miss it tonight, they’ll be showing on Sunday too.

With Qixi Festival (China’s “Valentine’s Day” kind of) coming up, why not try to get rid of your single status… in style? OK Deal Club s hostin a singles social networking event on The Dragon Boat. Ticket include two complimentary soft drinks (or one alcoholic drink) and a chance to win a raffle prize… and, of course, meet the love/like/one-night-stand of your life. Tickets at the door are 250RMB. 160RMB per person if you bring a male friend.

Zmack, Shanghai’s longest-running professional improv comedy troupe, will serve up a show in the vein of “Whose Line is it Anyway?” So if you like Wayne Brady (or whoever was famous from the British version), check it out. You might become an unwitting actor in the show! 50RMB.
9pm to 11:30pm, Sound Blue, 107 Sinan Lu near Taikang Lu
Moon Tyrant, Pink Elephant, Quarter Acre, Weghur and OCD will be playing a rockin’ five band show at Yuyintang. Their origins range from Zhengzhou to Wuhan to here in Shanghai, with music tastes that go from synth punk to hard rock. Check it out! 40RMB.

Are you able to donate a Sunday morning to abandoned animals? If you are, BEAN would love your support. Volunteers are needed to go to a dog and cat ‘foster home’ aprox. 45 minutes outside of Shanghai, to groom, play with, and show some affection to some 140 abandoned animals that the SCAA charity care for.
