One of the biggest culinary events around the world, Restaurant Week is here for a second run in Shanghai. This edition will include even more restaurants at cheaper prices. Who can resist? Restaurant Week 2 starts September 6th but venues take reservations starting today.
The purpose of Restaurant Week, according to co-founder Bierman, is to introduce local gourmands onto the Western dining scene. Although a few major Chinese venues have found their way onto the list, the restaurants are still mostly Western. Participating restaurants will serve three-course set dinners for RMB 238, and three-course set lunches for RMB 118.
Notables on the list this year include Hamilton House, T8 (which was wildly popular last year), Kathleen’s 5, and the entire Laris empire (Laris, Downstairs, and the new Purple Onion, just to count some).
