It sure sounds like it! According to the Telegraph, six of these Panda Ambassadors will get to spend this October working at the famous Woolong Giant Panda Protection and Research Center – and you could be one of them!
The “Pambassadors” are expected to work closely with Woolong Keepers, feeding baby pandas, learning about panda conservation and – I’m assuming – hugging them (glee)! Or as the competition says, “You will perform as photographer, videographer, journalist, scientist, and researcher in the course of one of the best months of your life!”
Successful candidates must be aged 18 to 40 and must be in good physical and psychological condition, as well as possess English writing abilities. Also, you can’t be “affected by any medical/chemical substance,” so no smokin’ doobies around the Pandas, guys.
Selection stops (or rather, moves away from the first round) on September 5. To apply, you either play a game that puts you “face to face with Chengdu pandas on the net, and try to experience hardship and pleasure of “Pambassador” in advance. Who is more qualified to be a “Pambassador”? Let panda “judge” whether you have got an opportunity to win this honor.” OR you can try submitting a video interview, where you show off how kind, caring and deserving of panda playtime you are through a lens.
The six winners will be selected by an international panel of judges from a shortlist of 12 hopefuls.
If you do decide to go the video route, please remember to link us too! We’d love to get to know the awesome people are striving to become “Pambassadors.”
