Shanzhai (山寨) and fangnu (房奴) now in the Oxford Chinese dictionary

It's official - shanzhai 山寨 (which literally translates to "mountain fort," but refers to a copied product) and fangnu 房奴 (mortgage slave, a term to describe the heavy burden of mortgages on well-educated youth in larger cities) have made it into the latest edition of the Oxford Chinese dictionary. The Oxford Chinese is the largest single volume EN-CN, CN-EN dictionary in the world. Said its editor, "We don't want to make it florid, we want it to be modern and conversational... many of the words in the present dictionary are no longer in use."
