A new Guinness World Record has been set for the world’s highest sand sculpture, boasting an incredible 22.43 meter tall structure with a mishmash of sand boulders, animals and other intricate details. It illustrates a Nigerian legend of a hummingbird’s path to become the king of all animals.
The sculpture is a product of the 12th Zhoushan International Sand Sculpture Festival. With themes such as “Peace and Friendship” to “The Eight Wonders of the World”, the festival has been successfully held since 1999. Over 20 artists worked for 75 days to achieve this immense achievement, working around the theme “Scenes from a Trip to Africa”.
