Lighting up the runway is designer,Jenny Ji with one of the strongest showings so far. Spectators tightly sardined into the tent to catch a glimpse of the designer’s eastern sensibilities and she did not disappoint.
This season, Ji evoked the ’30s and ’40s using hot pink to run throughout many of the looks. Her long gowns were neatly cinched at the waist and featured trains that trailed behind a few feet in length while she paired Peter Pan collars with her shorter dresses–something she herself donned for the night. In a lot of ways, Ji reminds of a younger, soft-handed Vivienne Tam. Is there anyone else who does contemporary Chinese so well? Not a single misstep could be found. Brava, Ji.
