Shanghai PRIDE, the three-week whirlwind of parties, performances, art exhibitions, film screenings, dinners, and panel discussions celebrating everything LGBT in Shanghai and China, is alas finally coming to a end! Their LiberASIAN closing bash on Saturday night promises to do what queens everywhere were born to do: throw a damn good party.
Shanghai gays and friends (all are welcome!) will gather at GameBling, where they promise amazing rooftop Bund views and music by DJs Bing and Yoko, two local LGBT faves. Tickets are 150 RMB at the door or 100 RMB presale.
If you’re free earlier in the day, Saturday also features Shanghai PRIDE’s Family Day. From their website:
If you’ve got a family member, or friend, or colleague who’s gay, and you want to celebrate their presence in your life, then this event is for you too!
We’ve got one whole day of song and dance performances, games and sketches as well as lots and lots of delicious food prepared for you between 10am and 7pm. It will be lots of fun for the entire family — so make plans to show up with your parents, your siblings, your kids and your pets — and let’s have fun!
And for those of you interested in film, we are smack dab in the middle of PRIDE’s very own film festival! Here’s what’s still left to catch:
Thursday: Chinese Closet, 8pm
Friday: Queer Comrades Series, 8pm
