Expect to smell some burning rubber over the weekend in Pudong. The Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters or DTM, a touring car racing series based in Germany, is now making Pudong New Area their concrete jungle playground for the final showdown of the 2010 DTM Championship.
Traffic will be banned around Pudong’s Century Park from 8am to 7pm from Friday to Sunday, turning the area into a circuit for the race. Yanggao Road M., Taolin Road, Dingxiang Road, Minsheng Road, Jinxiu Road, Huamu Road and Yanggao Road will all be closed to parking, as will the metro line 2 station at the Shanghai Science and Technology Museum.
Currently, the vehicles have all arrived and teams are preparing for the weekend. If you’re a racing-buff then make your way over on Friday morning when the Audi and Mercedes cars will be rolling out at 11:35 AM, in spite of the recommendation that pedestrians take alternate routes.
