Spain’s front-runner modern ballet and contemporary dance company performs “Multiplicity: Forms of Silence and Emptiness” for two nights here in Shanghai, on Friday and Saturday. The piece is staged under the direction of master choreographer Nacho Duato, one of Spain’s most famous dancers and choreographers. Duato is National Dance Award winner 2003 in the category of “Creation”. Music is from Johan Sebastian Bach. This show has been going for almost 12 years, having had its world debut in April 1999. The longevity almost assures us of quality, but I guess you’ll have to get tickets (price range: 120 – 580RMB) to know for sure.

After years of planning, the award-winning BBC TV series, Walking with Dinosaurs comes to life in a stunning theatrical event. The British Chamber of Commerce Shanghai pays respect to the literary genius of The Bard at the Annual Burns Night Supper 2011. Burns is most well known for his poem “A Red, Red Rose” whose first line is “My love is like a red, red rose.” This soiree sees traditional Scottish food, a live band flown in from Scotland and a charity raffle with proceeds going to a youth disabilities charity, Rights Into Action. If you are as into fashion as our resident junior editor Tiffany Ap is, then you will know the name Karl Lagerfeld. 18Gallery presents Karl Lagerfeld: Photography to coincide with the Chanel retrospective taking place at MoCA. This show, however, promises to reveal a more private side of Lagerfeld’s, who has guided the French fashion house this past decade. This rare collection not only features familiar faces of world renowned models such as Linda Evangelista, Helena Christensen and Patricia Velasquez, but also reflects the artistic style and mastery of a great designer and artist – Karl Lagerfeld.
