February is such a short month, we’re already halfway through now and the Shanghai Litfest is peeking above the horizon.
“Three weeks. 80 writers. 15 countries. The 2011 Shanghai International Literary Festival begins March 4, kicking off three weeks of readings, discussions, debates, workshops, literary lunches, even a literary walk.”
Literary M recently released the list of participating writers and the most exciting name is literary legend Thomas Keneally, who authored Schindler’s List. He’s joined by China hand Peter Hessler, award-winning novelist Amitav Ghosh, best selling novelists Emma Donoghue and SJ Rozan and many many more. You can check out the full list of writers that’ll be coming through 5 on the Bund and their bios on M’s website.
The Litfest’s opening cocktail is 6:30pm Friday, March 4 at Glamour Bar. 65RMB gets you in with a cocktail. We don’t have any other information on their other events as of yet, but we’ll keep you posted!
