ART EXHIBITIONS It’s the last call for Paul Andreu: Explorations, an exhibition of black and white sketches from an architect who turned fine art — that ends on Tuesday. Meanwhile, the trio of Wuhan artists Li Jikai, Gong Jian, and Chen Bo wrap their Reminscence exhibition full of childlike, cartoonish paintings on Thursday. Don’t miss out!

WOKAI E4E: Kurt Lipson The microfinancing group Wokai is holding an exciting speaker series for pioneering individuals to share stories about starting small businesses in China and their support for rural entrepreneurs. The night starts at 6:30pm at the Boxing Cat Brewery (Fuxing Lu) and at 7:30pm, there will be a talk by Kurt Lipson, cofounder of one of Shanghai’s most successful start-up franchises, Subway sandwiches. INDIE CHINA FILMS Indie China documentaries are screened every Thursday evening at Vienna Cafe co-organized with Spirit House. Tonight’s fim is “The City Symphony” by Yao Yuan and Ding Xuan. (48 min/2009). Synopsis: A documentary about City Symphony, a Shanghai-based amateur orchestra with members from all walks of life in Shanghai. All screenings are free of charge, but voluntary donations for the filmmakers are appreciated
