One of the perks of the job: Washburn hanging out with Aziz Ansari & Haibao
It was but five (almost six!) years ago that Dan Washburn somehow roped the Gothamist network into setting up an outpost in Shanghai. He started Shanghaiist with a post poking fun at Jackie Chan’s views on interracial relationships, setting the tone for hundreds of Jackie Chan jokes on this site since. But now he’s leaving!
That’s right: our beloved Dan, and his wife and two dogs, are now headed to New York City, where he’ll be taking on Managing Editor duties at the Asia Society.
You can say goodbye to him and wish him a happy trip to the other side of the world on Saturday at the Boxing Cat Brewery in Sinan Mansions. Kelley Lee’s been nice enough to offer us all happy hour prices while we’re sending him off.
What: Dan Washburn’s Goodbye Drinks
When: Saturday, March 5 from 8pm to 11pm
Where: Boxing Cat Brewery, Third Floor, Sinan Mansions complex at Sinan Lu and Fuxing Zhong Lu (思南路复兴中路)
