Remember Li Yang (李阳) of Crazy English fame? The self-styled English guru who believes that the best way for his students to master English is to yell out phrases after him combined with hand gestures?
This superstar whackjob of an English teacher is currently kicking up a storm over at Sina Weibo, and getting slammed by Chinese netizens for some of his controversial tweets.
Li boasts half a milion followers on his Weibo account, and has been tweeting parenting advice that would make the “Tiger Mom” Amy Chua blush, stoking the fire of anti-Japanese sentiment, and publicly fellating the powers that be.
A video of a typical Crazy English session follows after the jump, but for now, let’s take a look at some of his tweets:

Our responsibility is to make our teenagers miserable. If they are happy every day, you’re doing something seriously wrong. They don’t need any phone, mp3, vedio games, QQ to live.我们的责任就是让青少年悲惨。如果他们天天快乐，你一定做错了事情。他们不需要电话、游戏机、QQ也能生存。

“I want to wage a war targeted at our youth! They are always giving pressure to their parents: they want to buy Nike because their friends are buying Nike, they want to buy iPhones because their friends are buying iPhones, they want to play computer games because all their friends are playing computer games. Their parents want them to become heroes and role models, but they have no such desire. This generation is being destroyed by the tolerance of their parents and the education system today. Many young people today are as good as dead. We need to save them!”

“As a socialist country, China should resolutely remove all computer machines and game websites! This would be the bravest move of all mankind! I am making this call on behalf of the thousands and thousands of Chinese parents whose hearts are bleeding! Computer games are the source of a hundred evils and not one good. It’s worse than drugs for which there’s the death penalty, but computer games and game websites are hiding behind the cloak of technology, seducing and poisoning our young people. This is destroying the happiness of thousands of Chinese families and shaking the foundation of our nation to its core.”

”China is the only nation on the face of the earth that the United States cannot shake, topple or interfere in. This is because we have a great Party, a strong government, a healthy economy and an armed forces that has known no defeat. No matter how the Americans may rack their brains, the great nation of China will not be hindered and can only move forward. Our only enemy is ourselves! The only area we must not fail in is education — education in the home, in society and in school. Everyone must pay attention to education!“

“Japan does not need sympathy. This earthquake was just a little punishment from the Lord. Just think about how they invaded China and massacred Nanjing, and you will begin to understand how this little earthquake happened! On March 11, a magnitude 9.0 earthquake struck Japan. The earthquake, tsunami, fires, volcano eruptions, power breakdowns, factory shutdowns, have overcome this fragile nation like a sudden calamity, inflicting upon it more pain than it can bear.”
