We interrupt our regular programming to bring you this tearjerker of a video. A Japanese dog in the quake region, itself cold and traumatised, stands guard loyally by the side of its compatriot who appears to be injured from the earthquake and tsunami.
Both dogs have since received proper vetrinary care, but thousands of pets are likely to remain orphaned, abandoned, injured and in need of help. If you would like to donate towards helping these animals, you might like to support the work of World Vets, an NGO that currently has emergency relief teams on the ground in Japan. Every cent you donate will go towards veterinary supplies and medicines required by their relief teams.
