Congratulations Ryan and Colin Pyle, who recently made it into the Guinness Book of World Records with their Middle Kingdom Ride! Said an ecstatic Ryan:
On October 17th 2010, some 65 days after we departed, Colin and I rolled back in to Shanghai exhausted and unsure of how the outside world would react to our journey; well just last week we learned that the fine people at the Guinness World Records office were pretty impressed by our journey. So much so that Colin and I are now officially Guinness World Record holders. No, I’m not joking.
We’ve been awarded a Guinness World Record for the most kilometers completed in a single country, in a continuous journey and without backtracking and repetition. Obviously Colin and I are over the moon, it is an amazing recognition of what was a most insane journey.
That’s quite a specific achievement! You can see the award they got here. We followed the Brothers Pyle on their motorcycle trip through China, watched them negotiate the world’s longest traffic jam and congratulated them when they came home. It’s nice to see that such a veritable international body recognized their achievements as well!
