The good folks at Jaiya’s Animal Rescue recently picked up this collie and are in need of a dog lover to help take care of it. If you happen to be looking to foster a canine companion, why not dear Cassie?
Cassie is a six-years-old-or-so female and will be spayed this week. However, she will need some good walks and physical therapy, as it seems her previous owner didn’t bother exercising her, which caused her hind legs to atrophy.
More details from Jaiya’s Animal Rescue:
A friend of ours contacted us after rescuing an abandoned beautiful Collie dog (we named her Cassie) that was wandering on Jinxiu Lu (Pudong). She was limping, dirty and had major ingrown nails. How can anyone abandon her? A ‘common’ thing we come across in this city as 90% of our rescues are abandoned animals… sad but true.
We took her to the vet late last night to have her checked over thinking she had an injury. She had an X-ray and thank goodness everything is OK. The vet reckons that most likely her ex owner kept her in a cage, deprived her from eating & drinking and an obvious result of not giving her walks. The muscles on her hind legs are weak so she needs plenty of physical therapy (exercise) which we will work on.
She has a fantastic temperament and disposition. Friendly and gets along well with people and our other dogs!
We are fostering her in our home, so if there’s anyone out there willing to adopt (ideal) or foster her, please get in touch with me.
She is a really wonderful dog… when you tell her to sit (in Chinese), she sits and gives her paw to you… house trained, passive, quiet – a true family dog that loves attention and needs love.
