In a plea to China to stop the importation of seal meat and oil obtained from the annual seal-hunt in Canada, Pamela Anderson has taken it upon herself to send a personal letter to Xu Shaoshi, China’s minister of land and resources. In it, she invites him to visit her in Canada and witness the animal cruelty she has been donning tight t-shirts and tweeting up a storm to prevent. From AFP:
In her letter to Xu, released Tuesday by the animal rights group PETA, Anderson said many of the seals, some just months old and unable to escape, were bludgeoned to death with clubs that have sharp spikes mounted on them.
“If you witnessed this massacre, I’m sure that you’d have a change of heart about importing seal products into China,” the letter said.
But in all honesty, who knew there were people out there actually clubbing baby seals to death? Thanks, honorary PETA Director Anderson. The more you know.
