If our Flickr pool is anything to go by, a whole lot of Shanghaiist readers are also enthusiastic photographers. So why not turn that hobby into a way to give to charity two weeks from now? BEAN Shanghai has organized a Shanghai Photo Scavenger hunt… a great one, with all the proceeds benefiting a worthy cause.
The event will take place on Sunday, May 15th and requires you to join a team of three to four people and track down photo-op challenges.
Or in their words:
Sign up as a 3- or 4-person team (or as a “Free Agent”) for a Sunday afternoon of criss-crossing the city, hunting for photo-ops and completing a bunch of entertaining challenges for the win. The afternoon will start off in the garden at Cotton’s on Xinhua Lu, where at 2:00 pm sharp your team will open their sealed Mission Envelope containing a Top Secret list of photographic challenges.
The challenges are many, and although they are secret, we can tell you that all are inspired by the way of life in our beloved city. Some are as straightforward as getting a “Picture of a Team Member with a Chinese Tour Group;” others will require more creativity, all challenges revolve around familiar scenes and characters on the streets of Shanghai. They will result in a load of fun, unique pictures and a great story!
After passing through several checkpoints, the teams will meet up a few hours later at a restaurant where they will submit their results before a set deadline. At 8:00 pm, everyone reassembles as the jury of BEAN’s official photographers present the winning shots to all participants before awarding grand prizes to the winning teams.
To register a team for this event, email [email protected] with your name, number of people in your team and contact phone number. Please note that this is a fundraiser and each team will be asked to donate 100 RMB towards BEAN charitable projects.
