BEAN is calling all eagle-eyed photographic bounty-hunters in Shanghai to team up for the Great Shanghai Photo Scavenger Hunt. All you need to join is some kind of photography device and two or three friends.
Here’s how it works:
Sign up as a 3 or 4 person team (or as a “free agent”) for a Sunday afternoon of criss-crossing the city, hunting for photo-ops and completing a bunch of entertaining challenges for the win. The afternoon will start off in the garden at Cotton’s on Xinhua Lu, where at 2:00 pm sharp your team will open their sealed Mission Envelope containing a Top Secret list of photographic challenges.
The challenges are many, and although they are secret, we can tell you that all are inspired by the way of life in our beloved city. Some are as straightforward as getting a “Picture of a Team Member with a Chinese Tour Group;” others will require more creativity, all challenges revolve around familiar scenes and characters on the streets of Shanghai. They will result in a load of fun, unique pictures and a great story!
After passing through several checkpoints, the teams will meet up a few hours later at a restaurant where they will submit their results before a set deadline. At 8:00 pm, everyone reassembles as the jury of BEAN’s official photographers present the winning shots to all participants before awarding grand prizes to the winning teams.
But wait, there’s more! Want to join in, but not sure you can get together a team of four people? When you sign up for you and/or your less-than-three-other friends, say that you’d like to be a “Free Agent.” Free Agents will be teamed up together to form independent teams, space permitting. This is a great way to meet other BEANers and have fun while you’re at it!
Prizes for the winning photographs in different categories have been donated by Dragonfly (four foot massages), Souldancing (four dance classes), Sherpa’s (four 150 RMB vouchers), Cotton’s Hunan House (four 100 RMB vouchers), Enjoy cards (four membership cards), Napoleon Chocolate Bar (four 100 RMB vouchers), and Mrkt Store (four bags or other accessories).
To register, email [email protected] with name, number of people in your team and contact number. As a fundraiser, each team is asked to donate 100RMB to BEAN’s charitable projects.
