Gold diggers, listen up! The chances of meeting your future millionaire husband (or wife) have just been raised. According to the recently released Shanghai Wealth Report 2011, one in every 175 people, meaning 132,000 individuals, living in Shanghai now has a personal wealth of more than 10 million yuan. That’s 8.2 percent more then last year.
The sources of the rising wealth are, next to the rapid development of Shanghai’s economy, rising property prices. Last year, high-end property prices in Shanghai rose 21 percent, the fastest rate in the entire world. But 10 million yuan is just pocket money for the 7,800 super-rich people living in Shanghai – their personal wealth stands at at least 100 million yuan.
Sadly, it is not only property prices that have gone up. Keeping yourself attractive and desirable to Mr. or Mrs. Super-Rich has become much more expensive also. Monthly expenses for hair styling, for example, have rocketed from 300 to 500 yuan this year. But hey, you’ve got to invest money to make money, right?
