Real Ponies Don’t sleep is Acid Pony Club’s monthly gathering of insomniacs and speed freaks at Tara 57. If you keep it real 72 hours straight, sleep only when you faint and like your cough syrup on the rocks this party is for you. They’ll be playing “I can’t get no sleep” by Masters at Work on a loop all night.

It is International Children’s Day!!!!! For this reason is Paulaner’s Fenyang Lu branch offering two all you can eat buffets – one for kids and one for parents from 11am to 3pm! Food safety advocates host Shanghai Nonghao Farmers’ Market on Saturday, which hopes to “spotlight the achievements of small-scale producers in the greater Shanghai area who don’t use pesticides, chemical fertilizers, or additives” while encouraging consumers to “choose products that support healthy and environmentally-friendly production practices.” 12 different producers will be on hand and there will be a discussion on “Consumer Choice: Roads to Guaranteeing Food Safety” at 2pm.

Dada is celebrating their Love Bang One Year Anniversary. For one year now has this monthly party brough classic and new hip hop and fresh underground bass music to us. Out Loud! is Shanghai’s liveliest literary salon. For this cozy afternoon event, two featured readers will read from works-in-progress, followed by a handful of open-mic readers. We promise an afternoon of rich, raw, inspiring prose, a few good guffaws, and a sneak peek into the mysterious labyrinth of the writer’s creative process. 65RMB is the entrance fee and includes a drink.
