This Month’s Adoptable Pet from JAR
Age: Approx. 7 months old
On May 17th one of JAR’s volunteers saw a posting on the EnjoyShanghai website asking for help. The author of that plea was Sergey, who was extremely concerned about a young dog that was kept in very poor conditions in a restaurant, tied with a rope, with no chance to play or run and frequently abused by some of the restaurant clients (some clients used to throw food at him!).
One urgent e-mail was sent to several volunteers in order to coordinate a group of people that will meet Sergey the following day to help rescue the dog (a 1,000 RMB ransom was asked by the owner to release the dog).
On May 18th the volunteers met up with Sergey in order to rescue the dog. One of the volunteers (a Chinese young woman named Kitty) helped enormously with the negotiation and the ransom was lowered to 500 RMB (half was paid by Sergey and half by Jaiya’s Animal Rescue).
After the dog was released, the volunteers took him to the Vet hospital where he was examined. Snowy stayed in the hospital for a few days because he had a very upset tummy (most probably in the restaurant he was not given the right food that he needed). Later on Snowy was vaccinated, and currently he is living with his new foster parent (who sadly enough will be leaving China in one more month).
Snowy has a very sweet and friendly character, however, sometimes is shy and a little bit afraid of strangers (this might be due to his bad experience living at the restaurant).
Can you provide a forever loving home to this lovely white boy?
