Who says there’s no organic grassroots cultural movement in Shanghai? The Shanghai Repertory Theater is presenting a weeklong festival of theater performances, featuring a choice selection of original works and established classics.
Highlights of the festival include the SLAM Theater performance, which will feature performers given only 24 hours to conceive and rehearse their finished products, and an evening of one-acts, featuring plays by Samuel Beckett and Paul Johnson, along with the new play by Audrey Murray, The Translator.
And of course there’s the secret performance featuring an all-female cast that promises to ruffle a few feathers here and there. All we can tell you is that it can’t be missed.
