We told you about this two-headed baby born in Suining, Sichuan province last month and thought we’d share some updates! The two girls were born sharing so many organs that the doctors were be unable to separate them and worried they would not survive. We’re happy to inform you that the the girls are still alive and being cared for by the intensive care unit of a Chongqing hospital.
Doctors say the fact that the girls have survived a month is a miracle. But they aren’t out of danger yet. The biggest concerns are their lungs, which became infected after birth, and the inadequate heart of one of the girls. They also must be fed every two hours via tubes, but only one baby at a time, as feeding both could overload and confuse their system. They are given a full body massage every hour to improve blood circulation, and their specially designed clothes are replaced 3-4 time a day. Sounds like they’re being given the full celebrity treatment!
