If you’ve taken a taxi recently, it would have been almost impossible for you to miss the somewhat masculine, retro-looking aerobics lady encouraging you to exercise by stretching her bulging neck side to side (video below.) According to Shanghai Daily, she’s started quite the flurry of debate online. Chinese netizens have been arguing on Weibo as to whether they think she’s totalz crazy and personally disturbing, or whether they think her retro 80s-era aerobic motif is cool.
The campaign itself is an effort to encourage people to take better care of themselves. When surveying over 100,000 passengers, Touchmedia says the majority said they regularly neglected their personal fitness. The whole thing is also an opportunity to win lots of fitness stuff like personal trainers, exercise equipment and the like. We can’t help but think that instead of doing “light exercise” in the cab, maybe people should try biking to work.
And just who is this bizarre muscular woman? Well thanks again to Weibo, rumors are circulating that this woman may in fact be the general media manager of Touchmedia itself (pictured)!
I’ll be honest, I’ve had at least two conversations about the girl already, speculating over everything from ethnicity to sexual preference. She’s certainly caused a stir, so if she truly is the media manager, then I congratulate her on a job extremely well done.
