Tricky @ MAO Livehouse
Get your trip-hop on with one of the most influential artists in the genre. Tricky is known for his dark blend of rock and hip-hop and his whispering lyrical style that is half-rapped, half-sung. If you haven’t heard of him, perhaps you’ve seen him in his cameos in The Fifth Element or Tool’s music video for Parabola. Either way, he’s a world-class act not to be missed. Limited presale tickets are already sold out, but you should be able to buy one at the door or try calling 5403 4897 (11am-7pm, Mon-Fri)!

Shanghai Grand Carnival 2011
With naught much else going on Wednesday why not head out to the carnival? Despite a 6 year absence, the Shanghai Grand Carnival is back with a vengeance at the former Expo grounds. You’ll find over 50 rides there including one simply titled Bat; which at 1,148ft long and 66ft high actually sounds like a legit roller coaster!
50RMB tickets can be either purchased at the entrance and used on all rides and food, or you can call the ticketing hotline (400 810 1887) and spend 100RMB for 110RMB worth of rides and food. Be sure to use the full amount by the end of the day, as the total does not carry over.
