Those of us who’ve ever been English teachers here know that sometimes you just run out of materials to teach. That’s when you pull out the cartoons and movies. Disney stuff’s always a favorite, as are classics like the Back to the Future series – they’re easy to understand and wholesome enough for all ages. But what if you’re BORED of that kiddy stuff… or maybe forgot to load it onto your computer the night before? We guess it’s time to show them whatever you’ve bittorrented recently, like this guy. The show is Archer, a FX series known for its nudity and profanity. Yikes!
The teacher tried to defend him/herself by saying:
there isnt full nudity and its china, people go and take dumps on the street. and they dont understand any of the english in it.
i show them videos just because it interests them and it is still them hearing english, they might recognise some words but not much, i put on mickey mouse and cat in the hat as well. But sometimes i put on something for me and my TA to enjoy since they have no idea whats going on. But even my chinese TA whos english is pretty good has no idea what is actually going on but he says it really helps just to hear english spoken even if you dont know whats going on.
We’re not buying it… unless one day that TA shows up in a slightly darker black turtleneck.
