According to Apple’s China website, the opening date for Shanghai’s third Apple Store has been confirmed for this Friday morning at 9am. You can find the store at the corner of East Nanjing Road and Henan Middle Road, and normal operation hours will be between 10am to 10pm every day of the week.
With its third Apple Store, Shanghai becomes the first city in the Eastern Hemisphere to be granted three stores by the High Council of Apple (Sydney has one store in its city proper, with two in nearby suburbs).
Worldwide, only eight other cities proper have at least three Apple Stores, including London (most in the world with five stores), Toronto (tied with New York for second-most at four stores), and six cities in the United States alone (New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Pittsburgh, Las Vegas, Honolulu). The full list of Apple Stores can be found here.
And so we have to ask, now that Shanghai gets a little bump in its Q rating: How you like them Apple Stores, Beijing?
Update: And lest we forget our Specially Administered neighbors to the south, Hong Kong’s first Apple Store opens one day later on September 24th at 9am.
