The two-year-old girl, Yueyue, who was knocked down by two vehicles outside a market in Foshan and left to die by the roadside until a trash collector came to help her has passed away.
Doctors at the General Hospital of Guangzhou Military Command where Yueyue was placed under intensive care say she was unable to breathe on her own and died from “severe brain injuries”.
The driver of the first vehicle who knocked her down has also been found and detained by police.
UPDATE: Apparently media reports are wrong. The girl isn’t dead and still remains under intensive care.
