It’s that time of year again! Halloween, our favorite excuse to dress up like an idiot and imbibe more than the recommended units, is just around the corner! And this year, we at Shanghaiist have teamed up with our friends over at BEAN to throw you an absolutely enormous Halloween bash at Cargo JJ!
UPDATE: The parade has been canceled. Details here. In honor of our Zombie Walk and Robot March of years past, this year we’re planning to kick things off with a Hell Parade. We’ll all gather at Windows Too, where we’ve got you hooked up with free-flow beer from 9pm to 10pm. At 10pm sharp(-ish), we’ll parade from Windows to Cargo JJ (exact route TBA), and we’re setting up beer stations along the way to keep you going.
The theme is My Personal Demons – think devils, cigarettes, your worst nightmares, the fried dumplings you just can’t quit, whatever! Get creative because there WILL be costume prizes, as well as a raffle. If you don’t wear a costume, you certainly wont make it into our photo gallery, and we’ll probably write bad things about you on the internet.
Plus, shouting at confused onlookers during the parade through Jing’an just won’t have the same effect in street clothes.
The party will go all night long at Cargo JJ, where the bar will be open to continue the all-you-can-drink shenanigans. We decided to do it Chinese-style with our venue this year, in honor of how much we like Chinese clubs.
150RMB 100RMB before 11:30pm, 150RMB after, which gets you free-flow drinks and beats at Cargo JJ beginning whenever (10pm is official, but feel free to come earlier and get started!) and going until you give up. Exactly half of our proceeds from the party will go to BEAN, our favorite local charity and long-time besties.
