A farmer has put out a call for help on Weibo hoping netizens will take pity on him and use their social networking magic to help him sell his 55 tons of radishes before the cold weather destroys his harvest.

The radishes are in the fields now, no place to store them, the weather is getting cold, one night in the cold destroys a radish, meaning we’ll have wasted a year of effort… … good-hearted people on Weibo please help us, help forward this post, help buy radishes, tears please help, I can’t thank you enough!
Weibo netizens responded in force by forwarding his plea 13,000 times in the past 24 hours and adding 1,300 comments emphatically encouraging the farmer and even posting nutritional facts and health benefits of radishes en masse as if through sheer force of good will they could solve this farmer’s problems.
We sifted through about 85 pages of comments looking for people who said they were going to actually help the dude out by buying some produce, but mainly just saw reposts of “forwarding is helping.” We don’t doubt, however, that there were quite a few people ready and willing to go out and buy some radishes if only to cook a plate for their friend and offer definitive proof that it is possible to sustain your body with internet memes.
