Fashion Friday is a brand new weekly column that will appear on Shanghaiist every Friday, 9am on the dot. Here’s where you’ll find the latest on what’s hot, what’s not, meet designers, and get your fix on fashion events going about in town.
The Night Market at Dada returns next Wednesday evening with a plethora of gorgeous goodies. The idea behind this market event is based on countries that have night market shopping like Taiwan or Hong Kong – it’s just something casual, fun and different for people to go to, to hang out and to shop at. For this third edition of the market, you can expect a bigger and much better crowd.
You’ll rub shoulders with fashionistas and hipsters trying to snap up one-of-a-kind, limited edition apparel from bubblemood, 60s / 70s vintage frocks from Disco Kitty or edgy earrings made from recycled bicycle tires from Emma Ware.

If you are not that into fashionable products, you can also find soy wax candles infused with essential oils, bath oils and organic shea butter soaps from Elsie & Elva, an eco household and personal care brand based in Shanghai. All their products are handmade by an Australian naturopath and nutritionist, Dianne Tate.

Another booth not to be missed is Delicious! They offer fresh, all-natural, hand-blended and seasonally inspired skincare treatments and products. Made only when your order has been placed. It’s time to give your skin a nourishing treat this winter.
Your winter skin needs a bit of Delicious!
You will not go hungry at the market. Amelia’s will serve up glorious homemade jams and chutneys. And shhhh, you might even get your hands on pre-holiday season mincemeat pies!
All in all, The Night Market is great for pre-holiday shopping! While you are happily shopping, DJs Sacco and Morgan will also entertain you by spinning some good old 60s tunes! And…. did we mention it’s free to enter? Why wait? Gear up for a fun-packed Wednesday night!
