We all lamented the end of the Toy Story series when the 3rd movie came out, but never fear, because the legend of Toy Story is now alive again in Hong Kong’s Disneyland (just opened yesterday)!
After 5 years of disappointing sales for Hong Kong’s original Disneyland, plans are in motion to open three new theme parks, including Toy Story. Approximately 500 million USD will be poured in to fund the project and Toy Story is only the beginning.
Copying the theme of the original Toy Story Playland (located in Paris’ Disneyland), guests are supposed to feel as if they’ve been shrunk to the size of the toy roaming about Andy’s backyard. Large bamboo stalks loom overhead, acting as blades of grass and enhancing the illusion. Park guests can enjoy playing with Andy’s cherished toys, which have been transformed into amusement rides such as Toy Soldier Parachute Drop, Slinky Dog Spin, and RC Racer.
You can get a little preview of the new amusement park from the above video, including a sneak peek at some of the rides themselves!
