Foreign universities may all be flocking to China but Chinese universities are also taking the first tentative steps overseas. Shanghai Jiaotong University is setting up a new research centre with the National University of Singapore to work on Energy and Environmental Sustainability Solutions for Megacities. According to the Straits Times:
The centre aims to improve energy recovery from waste, as well as develop system modelling and data management tools to track and mitigate emerging environmental contaminants. Industry collaboration will be a key component of the project, and test-bedding sites in Singapore and Shanghai have already been identified.
